Our Mission

The Aston Villa Former Players Association is an independent non profit-making organisation governed by Constitution and managed by former players and others with specific skills. It was established in January 1995, primarily to provide a comprehensive range of Health & Welfare support to all former Aston Villa players, not just retired players.

The former players is one of the most important parts of the football clubs’ history. He is the protagonist of memorable victories, dramatic defeats and fond anecdotes that evoke passion for a football team that is passed on from generation to generation and settles in the collective memory of communities shaping identities and principles that help integrate football fans throughout the world.

Helping former players is the core of our existence here at the Aston Villa Former Players Association.

Aston Villa Former Players Association endeavours to bring solutions to the many important issues, cares and concerns of professional footballers when their playing days have come to an end, whilst simultaneously providing local, regional, national and international opportunities to participate in sporting and social activities that offer a platform to renew friendships and initiate new ones and raise money for charitable causes.
